Detailed Itinerary
Hue Cooking Class offers a daily cooking experience in Hue for food enthusiasts to learn to prepare the amazing dishes of Hue, guided by a local English-speaking chef. Additionally, participants can immerse themselves in the local culture by engaging in typical daily activities.
The tour begins at 9 a.m. with a scooter ride from your hotel, during which you’ll pass by rice fields, family temples, and local markets on the way to Thanh Toan village. Here, you’ll explore the Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge, one of the oldest wooden bridges in Vietnam, before visiting the Agricultural Tools Museum to learn about traditional rice cultivation methods and farming tools.
At 11:30 a.m., you’ll be driven to a small farm garden to join the cooking class. The two special dishes you’ll learn to prepare are Va Tron Tom Thit (Fig Salad with shrimp and pork) and Nem Ran (Fried Spring Rolls). The English-speaking chef will explain the significance of these dishes and guide you through the cooking process using various ingredients, while also being available to answer any questions.
After the cooking class, you’ll get to savor the dishes you prepared, along with other Vietnamese daily meals, such as white rice, fried vegetables with garlic, soup, braised chicken with lemongrass and chili, and fruit for dessert.
