Da Nang - Hue

Day 1: Da Nang – Hue City Tour (L)

8:00: Pick up at hotel/airport in Da Nang city. Depart for Hue City, with a stopover at the towering Hai Van Pass. Upon arrival in Hue City, have lunch, check in at the hotel, and take some time to rest.
15:00: Visit Thien Mu Pagoda and The Imperial Citadel of the Nguyen Dynasty (1802 – 1945).
18:30: Free time at leisure. Overnight in Hue.

Day 2: Hue – Paradise Cave – Ke Bang National Park (L)

7:00: Breakfast and check-out. Depart for Phong Nha Cave, a World Natural Heritage site. Visit the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), including the Ben Hai River and Hien Luong Bridge.
11:00: Arrive at Phong Nha Cave and have lunch.
13:00: Board a boat and cruise along the river to explore Phong Nha Cave. Return to Hue city. Have dinner and free time in the evening.

Day 3: Hue City – Departure (L)

7:00: After breakfast, visit Khai Dinh Tomb, and Tu Duc Tomb.

Currently, compared to other mysterious tombs in Vietnam, Tomb of Khai Dinh has been relatively intact and owned a unique architecture. Emperor Khai Dinh decided to locate his tomb imperial at the foot of the mountain Chau Chu, 9 kilometers south of Hue city. In comparison with the rest of the imperial tombs, this imperial tomb is small in extent, little more than 5600 square meters; however, its construction, decoration, and details are very elaborate.

Khai Dinh became the Emperor of Vietnam in 1916 at the age of 31. Right after taking the throne, he built many palaces, buildings, and royal tombs for himself and his own imperial clan, such as Kien Trung Palace, An Dinh Palace, Trang An Gate, Hien Nhon Gate, Chuong Duc Gate, and especially Ung tomb (former Khai Dinh Tomb). Compared to the tombs of previous predecessor Emperors, namely Gia Long Tomb, Minh Mang Tomb, Tu Duc Tomb, Dong Khanh Tomb, Duc Duc Tomb, Khai Dinh Tomb covers an area much more modest, with the dimension of 117m x 48.5m whereas extremely elaborate and time-consuming to complete the tomb. In detail, it took 11 years to finish the tomb. Visitors will have a chance to observe this unique architecture.
